Mark and Melissa have done the hard work by reaching an agreement together.
Melissa engaged us and we arranged a referral to a like minded lawyer whom Mark engaged.
After preliminary discussions between lawyers, an exchange of some basic financial documents and provision of legal advice, Mark and Melissa’s property settlement was formalised quickly, amicably and in the most cost effective fashion.
Mark and Melissa separated a few months ago after living in a de facto relationship for a few years. It’s the second time around for them both. They don’t have any children together although Melissa does have an adult son from her previous marriage.
They both came into their relationship with assets and superannuation of similar value, they have applied their incomes towards managing their own assets and towards the home they purchased together. They are similar ages and neither of them has any health issues which impact upon their ability to financially support themselves in the future.
Although separation has been tough, they are reasonably amicable. Mark and Melissa negotiated their own settlement deal and need assistance to ensure its fair and have their settlement legally documented.
